Reports suggest that the 19 year old hurler from Cork, of Irish-Fijian descent, will decide this week whether to fly to Australia to trial with the Victorian club. As the hurling season is in its final play-off stages, this would be a big risk for the youngster. See the article in RTE.ie[*1] or visit the ARFLI website[*2] for more information. The photo at RTE.ie shows Aisake is of similar height to Setanta, and possibly a stronger build. If he travels to Australia and impresses, Carlton may consider making him their second international rookie. Given Ireland's demolition of Australia in the recent series, there may be a few young Irishmen fancying their chances at a professional career in the AFL, especially since the GAA sports in Ireland are strictly amateur. Hopefully such a trend will also boost the ranks of the Irish Australian Rules league.
