The inaugural USFootyNews.com[*1] All-Star Team was voted on during the month of October. Here are the results.
The USFootyNews.com All-Star Team[*2] forward line includes Chris Moerman (Nashville[*3] ) who was USFootyNews.com's 2008 Goal Kicker of the Year with 43 goals, the Revo and San Diego[*5] forward, Justin Valley[*6] and the 2008 USFooty Division 1 MVP, Dwayne Marshall from the Baltimore Washington Eagles[*7] . The Half Forward line is anchored by New York Magpies[*8] , Shane Batty, who had a great year in front of goal and in the mid-field. On the flanks are Revos Andy Vanica[*9] (Milwaukee[*10] ) and David Walker (Nashville).
The center line is led by Aaron Tyndall, the coach of the Baltimore Washington Eagles. Tyndall had a great year in the center, running the offense with hand passes to his running midfielders. On the left, is left-footer, Jay Levesque[*11] , who dominated the wing for both the Eagles and the Revos. On the right wing, is New York's Jordon McIntyre, who is closer to standard mid-fielder than a specialized winger. In Ruck, is Nashville's tall, Damian Serong. Roving to Serong, is Nashville team-mate and Revo stalwart, Dee Vsetecka. Eagle Shane Freerson takes the ruck-roving duties.
The Half-Back line is anchored by St Louis and Revo ruckman, Dan Sergot. On the flanks are two Revos, the Eagles hard-charging mid-fielder, RJ Wheelock, and Philly's[*12] Pat Miller. The all-important Full-Back position is taken by Revo and Nashville player, Luke Nemeth[*13] . A second-place finisher in the USFootyNews.com 2008 MVP award. In the pockets are New York's dominant ruckman, Andrew Bridges, and Revo and North Carolina Tiger[*14] , Paul Duncan[*15] .
The interchange includes eight players, starting with Boston's[*16] George Lakomy who had a great tournament in Melbourne with the Revos at Full-Forward and USFootyNews.com 2008 MVP Kelly Nelson[*4] (Revo/Orange County Bomber). Then comes, New York tall Joel Keating, Eagle Center Half-Forward, Rich Strayer, Revo Captain and San Diego star, Donnie Lucero, Revo and Philly's Head Coach, Jon Loring, Denver Bulldog[*17] and the Revo's only rep on the World Team, Chris Candelaria, and North Carolina Head Coach and ruckman, Jason Heathcote.
