AFL Grand Final now to be screened live in USA

ESPN were planning to show this year's AFL Grand Final on a two hour delay on ESPN2 but it now appears that viewers across the USA can now watch the game live. It will now be screened on ESPN Classic channel live which is great news for Aussie Rules clubs in the US as well as the fans, both expat Australians and converted locals.

The screening of the AFL Grand Final is great news.But if you are ever going to grow the game in any substantial way these screenings must become live,frequent and consistent.The AFL community must promote them beyond their own boundaries and must be shown in key strategic outlets eg pubs,restaurants and clubs.Keep up the good work because this is the sort of match that will ignite the expansion. We all have confidence in the product.Lets not be shy about it.

Yeah your right about that, AFL games do need to be shown more frequently in America. Also another couple of good ways is to show adds about the clubs in the USA and maybe even show games between those clubs on free to air TV.

This is not only an American issue. It would be great to be able to watch the GF live on the European continent as well or regular matches for that matter.

This is huge. Grand Final night has become THE major social event at most footy clubs in the US and it is a major fund raiser in the lead up to the USFooty Nationals.

Thanks to the AFL, AFANA and others that worked to get this done.
