Tinks I think this story represents what has happened in the past 3 years. 2008 Duffie turns his back, rightly so, on NZAFL as did Nick previously. We can understand that- guaranteed professional pathway in a sport that may well have been their first love anyway despite their talent for footy. Now 2011- Kurt Heatherly is on and international Rookie scholarship with Panui-Leith and Tatupu. They are part of the 2011 squad and being monitored carefully by Hawthorn. They may well choose their first love sports for a professional career but you would have to say that in 2011 AFL holds some chance of seeing them stick to it.
