Update for the field of dreams. I met Paddy(from Ireland AFL) at the Aussie Rules movie function at the Crown and he said the Field of dreams is now constructed. The use that the University had intended did not eventuate so tenure became secure and the field went ahead. Paddy says the problem is that they wont stay off of it and let the grass grow. Need to confirm this. If so, this is fantastic news.

Haven't seen or heard anything from Croatia about the actual going ahead with the Oval project. If it has gone ahead that is great news!

I did note that the Knights have scheduled a friendly with the Netherlands (at 9-a-side I believe) but the match was to be played away from Zagreb in the Dalmations' region. Haven't actually seen any thing about whether that match went ahead either.

If Croatia AFL have achieved getting the oval built it is great news for footy in Eastern Europe and let's all hope that AFL Croatia and AFL Europe can get a few 'internationals' played there over the next year or so.

Could well help raise the profile of footy in the region.
