World Rankings as at end 26th April 2014

There is currently no official system of World Rankings for Australian Football, as the international game is still mostly amateur, still maturing and there are often difficulties in nations having all their best players available. However, due to popular demand, worldfootynews.com has been providing rankings since 2006. Below were the rankings as at 13 August 2014.

This was the first update since 10th August 2013 after the 2013 European Championships, and came after just one new match as countries internally prepared for the 2014 AFL International Cup. This rankings update was done to have the latest leading into the tournament.

As a result of Denmark's 178 to 22 smashing of an inexperienced Swedish line-up the Elks fell three spots and the Danes picked up significant ranking points but not quite enough to reach Tonga on our ladder.

Samoa has not played a qualifying full field match for over 4 years and so are regarded as dormant, they must play by 05/09/2016 to stay on the list. Spain fell off the list based on this criteria in 2013.
