Europe Junior football in Denmark entered a new era this week with the first Farum Inter-School Championships held on September 5th. Over 60 players aged 11-16 represented 4 schools in the Farum area, with the Lillerød Lions defeating Marie Kruse, Stavnsholt and Solvang for the cup. Farum have traditionally been the club with Denmark\'s strongest juniors program, starting their underage competition in the mid-nineties and even bringing touring sides to Australia to play against junior sides and run out at half-time of an AFL match with the little-leaguers.

The Inter-Schools Cup marks a new step forward, with the Farum football club involved intensively with training the schools and many of the boys and girls playing junior football with the club. Lillerød are the only school of the four to come from outside Farum, and even though they didn\'t have the advantage of training with the Farum club, a group of Farum senior players had been holding training sessions for the students over summer.
