Europe Sydney Swans and Ireland International Rules star, Tadhg Kennelly, helped his old club Listowel Emmets win the North Kerry Gaelic football final while home for Xmas.

Kennelly broke his nose during the game, but in his indomitable style that he has become known for in the AFL, he played out the match, which Listowel won 0-12 to Finuge 0-5, and is not expected to miss any of his footy season back in Oz with the Sydney Swans.

Though some Swans officials and fans may shiver, Kennelly has always had a deep love for his Irish roots and the game he grew up on. At very least the Gaelic - Aussie Rules link means here is one AFL player with finals footy experience during the off-season.
