In the latest installment of Sweden's hottest domestic rivalry, the E4 Cup, the South Sweden Saints defeated the Stockholm Dynamite in Stockholm 14.7.91 to 4.5.29.

Dubbed the E4 Cup after the main motorway connecting Stockholm with the southern province of Skåne (Scania) where the Saints are based, this is the second ever match, with the Southerners having defeated the Dynamite by four points, 92-88, in Helsingborg last June.

The Cup is one of international footy's few true interleague trophies, with the Saints based on the Scania conference of the DAFL and the Dynamite the representative side from the four-team Stockholm region Australian Football Federation. The Saints also play as a representative side of the Scania conference in the DAFL's premier league, and maintain a large portion of history from the Helsingborg Saints, Sweden's first Aussie Rules club.

Stockholm's league was formed in 2004, but has achieved a stable three-team (North, Central and South Stockholm) setup and is hoping to grow in the near future.

Eyes on Swedish footy now turn to the upcoming international match between Denmark and Sweden, to be held in Farum, Denmark on the 11th of June.

The Danish national team is hoping for this match to prove a good hit-out before their appearance in Melbourne this August for the International Cup. As another preparation for the Vikings return down under, the "Fifth Quarter Dinner" Fundraising ball will be held in Copenhagen on the 4th of June, further details available on the DAFL's website.
