Two well known internationals trying to make their way at the highest level of footy are Carlton's Irish recruits Setanta and Aisake O'hAilpin. The elder brother Setanta has received plenty of press and recently played his first game for the Blues, promoted from their VFL feeder club the Northern Bullants. But less is known about Aisake. The pair were recently interviewed on Carlton's Blues Club Corner radio show and the audio is available online.
The Irish pair live with another Carlton young gun, Andrew Walker. Setanta is in his second season and has had a solid year with the Northern Bullants in the VFL senior grade. Aisake is playing Aussie Rules for the first time in 2005 and has spent the season playing for the Bullants' reserves, playinh anywhere from the forward lines to centre half back. His name is of Fijian origin, as their mother is from Fiji, whilst their father is Irish. Aisake has made the best players on several occasions this season and will be looking to move up to the Bullants seniors in 2006. According to the interview Setanta is now a superstar back in Ireland, where he was already a rising star in the ancient game of hurling.
The direct link to the interview is here or visit the Carlton FC website - currently there is a link in the middle of their homepage called The Irish Connection.
