The national broadcaster of Australia, the ABC's flagship radio current affairs program, "PM", featured a great segment on the Japanese team at the International Cup.
The story highlighted the Japanese victory over Spain in the opening game that morning and featured bilingual interviews with several Japanese players as well as with coach Troy Beard, who was said to have shed tears of joy over the Samurais' first IC victory.
The Japanese game plan was also described - do not kick to contests but to space to maximise the players pace advantage.
The story can be read in transcript, or better still, listened to in audio at the ABC website for "PM" for the 3rd August http://www.abc.net.au/pm/content/2005/s1429572.htm - check the archive link if looking at this story past 4th August.
