In the early game of Round 2 the new side Spain took on one of the favourites in New Zealand. Alas the Bulls were not as competitive as they were against Japan, and it's starting to look like a long tournament for the Europeans.

The Kiwis kicked four goals to nil in the opening stanza and repeated the dose in the second. Only bad kicking for goal stopped the score getting even worse. The gallant Spaniards fought hard but with an inexperienced team it was always going to be tough.

The Bulls only brought a small squad to Australia and with several injuries coach Jeff Callow has limited options. By the second half a full flood was being employed to crowd the New Zealand forwards, but whilst limiting the damage it also makes scoring harder for one's own team. This proved the case as the final score saw Spain without a goal. The Kiwis are travelling very nicely and sharing the goals around - this time the major scorers were Frogatt and Bowden with three each.

Next up Spain take on the USA who will be very confident after defeating Ireland, so it doesn't get any easier for the Bulls. New Zealand take on Japan which should be much more testing but the extra height of Australia's near neighbour should worry the tenacious Japanese.
