Details for Scotland's VB Haggis Cup have been finalised with six teams fronting up for the Glasgow tournament. The 2007 event will feature sides from Scotland, England, the Republic of Ireland and a combined Brussels/Strasbourg team.
The VB Haggis Cup will be staged in Glasgow on 5th May.
The teams have been divided into 2 pools, with each team seeded. The groupings are as follows (seedings in brackets):
Group 1:
North London Lions (1)
Dublin Swans (2)
Glasgow (3)
Group 2:
Dublin Demons (1 - as defending cupholders)
Edinburgh (2)
Brussels/Strasbourg (3)
The SARFL's Eddie McAvinchey reported that "It is encouraging to see that both Brussels and Strasbourg will make the trip to Scotland, with their sides uniting to field one team for the competition. The return of the Dublin Demons is another positive for the organisers, as the Demons travelled to Glasgow in 2006 as well, taking the cup home to Ireland with them on that occasion. VB have sponsored the event, cementing their relationship as a key supporter of the SARFL and Scottish footy".
