In a promising sign that Setanta Sports will be putting in significant efforts to promote Australian Football on its sports channels, last week they had Miss Ireland turn out for a photo shoot with the lads from some of the Dublin Aussie Rules teams. If the blonde beauty doesn't attract attention to the great game nothing will. |
As we reported in Setanta lifts international AFL coverage to new levels, Ireland's Setanta Sports network has launched a great new package providing live matches and a highlights package for their customers in North America and Europe. To help push the campaign along in Ireland they had Miss Ireland, Sarah Morrissey, join the Dublin Demons and Dublin Saints for training. Setanta have already shown a great willingness to work with local footy organisations such as ARFLI and AFANA to promote the game - let's hope they get full reward for their efforts. In Ireland they will show three games from each round of the AFL Premiership on Setanta Sports 2 which is available as part of the Setanta Sports pack on Sky Digital or as an upgrade on Chorus and NTL Digital. Setanta Sports have secured the rights to the AFL for the next five years in the UK, Ireland and North America. Scheduling details are available on www.setanta.com. No word yet as to whether
