Generally
US Footy is the recognized representative organization of Australian Football in the USA and is seeking to fill the Head Coaching position for the American Revolution, the national representative team. Applications are due January 20, 2009.
Description of Responsibilities
The Head Coach is responsible for the on-field performance of the Revolution. The Coach leads the selection process through the next three years and the selection of the team which will travel to Australia in 2011. The Head coach is also responsible for recruiting his volunteer assistant coaches.
As with all coach positions, communications is crucial, both on and off the field. Communication skills by both phone and e-mail are critical in this role and the successful applicant must show a history of good communication and a dedication to being the primary link to creating the “team” of potential Revolution players.
The coach will be selected on a combination of skills, including
· previous coaching experience;
· high level communication skills;
· business acumen;
· leadership;
· a demonstrated dedication to the USAFL
· solid knowledge of all USAFL team lists
· an understanding of financial and geographical challenges facing USAFL players
· track record of existing working relationships with club coaches
· commitment to developing new relationships with all relevant stakeholders; and
· an ability to “bring into the fold” and educate players who may be relatively new to the game of Australian Football.
Applicants must be AFL Level 1 Coaching certified, with a preference for Level 2 certified.
The coach will be required to attend a certain number of regional camps per year as well as various Revolution selection games, some (but limited) financial support may be available for travel. This is a volunteer position and will be appointed to run though the end of 2011. The appointed Head Coach will be required to pay the same proportion of costs as the players.

Background on American Revolution
The Revolution is the National team of the United States Australian Football League (USAFL). The USAFL is focused on building the National team over the next three years with the aim of competing in the 2011 International Cup. Travel during 2009, 2010 and 2011 will likely involve domestic travel for training camps, possible tournament entries, international matches and travel to Canada for international matches. In 2011, the Revolution hope to improve on its 7th place finish at the 2008 International Cup.

USAFL Accountant Position Available
Applications for USAFL Staff Accountant position (Part-time)
The USAFL is currently calling for expressions of interest in the part-time role of Staff Accountant The Staff Accountant works under the supervision of the USAFL Treasurer and President. Day to day contact will be expected with the USAFL Office Manager. The Staff Accountant is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of the USAFL Accounting systems in accordance with the needs of the organization, and generally acceptable accounting principles and other relevant standards. It is envisaged that the person will work at home, and with some set hours to facilitate communication and productivity. Ideally, the person should attend the USAFL Nationals each year if possible.
General Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain the USAFL chart of accounts.
Process transactions, and compile reports for Executive needs.
Complete and reconcile all general ledgers, bank statements, and general journal entries for monthly and annual closings.
Work with Quickbooks accounting software online to prepare monthly financial statements, budgets, amended budgets, balance sheets and cash flow forecast, and professional use of Microsoft Office suite software.
Establish and maintain all receivable and payables.
Work with the Organizations auditor to complete an annual audit as needed.
Assist the Treasurer in preparing the annual budget and monitoring cash flow.
Other duties as directed.
Skills Required/Preferred:
Minimum Experience and Qualifications;
Associates Degree in Business or similar with a concentration in Accounting or relevant 3 years experience as a bookkeeper or staff accountant;
Knowledgeable of Generally Acceptable Accounting Principles (GAAP);
Strong analytical skills;
Knowledgeable of computerized accounting software – primarily Quickbooks and Microsoft Office; ability to create and maintain record keeping systems;
experience working in a non-profit environment and managing
the reconciliation of grants and income streams.
Must have home high speed DSL access, and direct phone access.
Salary: DOE (hourly, non-taxed)
Status: Part time – hours per week varies, with an estimate of 10-15. Flexible
