The AFL London 2009 Grand Final will see traditional rivals Wandsworth Demons play the West London Wildcats in all 3 grades of the AFL London Grand Final.
Powerhouse club West London lay claim to being the biggest Australian rules club outside Australia and have dominated the premiership tally of the league over the past few years - their senior Wildcats side winning the last 5 London premierships on the trot.
West London's Conference (2nd) Division side, the Shepherds Bush Raiders, have won every single premiership in that division since it began in 2001.
The 2008 season was the first-ever triple premiership clean-sweep for a BARFL/AFL London club, the Wildcats, the Raiders and their social league team the Ealing Emus all winning the premiership in their respective divisions.
The Wandsworth Demons last won a grand final in 2003 - against West London. This was the last time the two sides met in a senior Grand Final and the Demons will be eager to lay claim to the honour of being the club to break West London's stranglehold on the trophy. Their seconds side the Clapham Demons and social team South London will also be fronting against their West London counterparts in the lead-up to the main event.
For the South London Demons, the match will be a rematch of the first-ever Social Division grand final in 2007 - where the Demons came out to defeat Ealing by five goals.
The day's footy will be held at Barn Elms Recreation Reserve.
Social Division: South London v Ealing Emus (11.00am)
Conference Division: Clapham v Shepherds Bush (12.30pm)
