THE AFLPNG Talent Camp will take place on Friday 3rd December in Goroka. Approximately 100 kids will make their way to the Eastern Highlands Province and be put through numerous tests, both physical and mental by Australian AFL staff.
Tests will involve:- 20m sprints, 2km time trial, agility, push ups and sit ups, vertical jump, kicking and handballing.
Split into 3 groups the weekend will involve rotations throughout various exercises, lectures and fitness drills, with the aim to pick out the elite players.
Previous AFLPNG Talent Camps have seen players spotted by AFL recruiters and some of these have spent time in Australia. The talent camp offers these kids a great opportunity to display their talents to AFL staff in the hope of playing in Australia.
