The entire Hawks playing squad and coaches will touch down in Christchurch, New Zealand this Thursday, before making their way to the Mount Cook vicinity, one of the Country’s most picturesque and elevated training locations. The high altitude adventure training camp will see the Hawks in NZ for five days.
The players will be put through high-intensity physical activity, including mountain bike riding, high-altitude running and hiking and white water rafting. The players will also focus on team building activities.
Andrew Russell, Hawks Head Fitness coach, said that the group was looking forward to freshening up their training program in a unique and challenging environment.
“The training camp will provide the group a fresh challenge, breaking up the Club’s first training cycle of four weeks, spring-boarding the team into our second training cycle before Christmas,” said Russell.
“It will be a physically and mentally demanding trip and we hope it will hold us in good stead for the 2011 season. The boys are really excited and are looking forward to taking on a very challenging landscape.”
