Tobietta Rhyman interviewed the captains of both the Continent and Islands teams after match at The Oval earlier today and filed the following videos. The European Islands team defeated the European Continent team 11.11 (77) to 2.3 (15).

Thanks to Tobie for some interesting questions there under no doubt trying conditions. Nice to hear players supporting the concept. The Islands vs Continent seems somewhat artificial but I think the comments ring true that it's good to give players from across Europe the opportunity to play and to mix.

Reports are saying around 10,000 for the AFL match. Hopefully the AFL are happy with that and will look to build on it rather than a one off match.

At AFL Europe AGM there was talk that if they didn't get 16,000 they wouldn't repeat it any time soon. Bit unrealistic. Then again the country reps grilled Ben MacCormack on his promotion plans and he said he had radio and subway ads etc. etc. all planned out. All I saw was a few posters in Aussie bars. Not good enough.
