The 2012 AFL Oceania Cup week of events kicks off on Thursday December 13th with a Lightning Carnival across the day; with matches commencing at 10am and wrapping up with a 3.30pm Grand Final followed by the presentations. Friday sees the main competition firing up – with ideally the travel cobwebs shaken off the day before. The official opening ceremony is scheduled for Friday 10am.

The grand final will be followed by the final presentations and close with an official closing function 7pm Tuesday evening.
Across the week there are some 'extra carricular' activities, including the Coaching/Admin workshop on Saturday; AFL combine skill testing also Saturday after the last match that day in preparation for the full AFL Combine Testing running 9am to 1pm on Monday.
Out of the tournament there will be an Oceania Team selected to take on PNG and New Zealand in a South Pacific Cup that will count towards selection in the South Pacific squad to contest the NAB U16 national championships. On Wednesday the 18th, the day after the Grand Finals there will be an Oceania Team Meeting and Training, followed by a managers/coaches meeting after which all teams will be departing Fiji.
