The Haggis cup saw the Copper Sharks seeking revenge over the Diesel Sharks for a heavy defeat in Glasgow a week earlier. Leeroy Brown was traded for Zoe Rowe for this exhibition match in Edinburgh.
The Copper Sharks dominated early proceedings, outscoring the Diesel Sharks 20-2 in the opening quarter, which Saw Sue Noble score her first goal for the Copper Sharks.
The following quarters were much closer affairs but the Copper Sharks’ strong 1st half performance continued in the 2nd quarter, extending their lead by a further 5 points in a low scoring period dominated by the midfield. The Copper Sharks were 4.4.28 0.5.5 in the lead as the half time siren sounded.
