All this junior talk is great to see...wat im hoping to see is a china vs japan match... hopefully they match up well and the guys behind the scene can get together and work out an anual match between the 2 teams...a strong china and japan could do great things in that area

The Barassi Youth Tournament has AFL support and is due to run again around October 2008 in the ACT. It would seem as though they'd have more chance getting international juniors there if it was held at the same time in the same place as the IC. It's difficult, because the BYT key drivers are ACT (Canberra) based. Have a search on here and you'll find more info (search box is at top left).

There's no doubt international women's and major juniors tournaments are getting close to being viable. Whether they are best run simultaneously or staggered in time is the question. I would've liked (and suggested) that the AFL embrace a small women's tournament at the same time as the men's IC. I think the BYT would be best staggering theirs to say 2009 or 2010 so nations aren't so stretched in one year.
