Logistically it would make sense to send as many squads available to the same tournament.

You'd at least be guaranteed support for the senior national sides. Something missing in previous tournaments (with the exception of maybe Canada and PNG) was supporters of the national teams. Obviously being in Australia and having no participating team, it makes it difficult for the crowd to identify with and support a team, and not many would travel for such a low profile event.

As a tournament attendee, I'd love to see Under 17s matches at the IC.

I'm sure it would also be a huge pathway for players. I remember the media getting excited about some of the talented South African kids last time they toured the Northern Territory. What better way than to get noticed than to borrow some of the limelight of the senior tournament.
