It's worth noting that upon returning to Australia, the AIS squad defeated a West Perth squad by 34 points. West Perth are a league club in the WAFL, probably the 4th strongest league in the world, behind the AFL, SANFL and VFL. West Perth didn't play their absolute best squad, but reportedly played much of it. So these Academy kids that South Africa played against are superb young players.

It will be interesting to see how many new names are in the South African squad for the IC08 compared with IC05.
