Opinion - Vision vs Myopia

Although the games often disappoint me it'll be good to have something vaguely resembling footy on the TV again - it's a long wait between seasons.

And in terms of coverage of Australian footy, the media in Australia is awash with soccer (such as Adelaide United making the Asian Champions League final - some are saying it's bigger than when the Crows won back-to-back AFL flags) and the upcoming Rugby League World Cup, so it's nice to have something for Australian football to still grab some attention during its off-season.

And as we've reported here on WFN there have been many (probably over 200) games of IR played at all kinds of levels around the world. The hybrid fills a niche for GAA and AFL clubs and lower leagues, not just at the elite AFL v GAA level.
