Regarding Brett Northeys advice to Rob de Santos "that even if something goes under after 13 years,surely it was 13 worthwhile years.'I could not disagree more.After 13 years of hard slog what precious little advancement has been made would instantly evaporate.That is not to disparage in any way the unpaid hard work of the volunteers who frankly face a near impossible task in making any major headway.I take my hat of to them,but it does emphasize the enormous task in marketing by far the worlds most spectacular code of football from a miniscule market in Australia.In marketing terms once a product gets a grip in a particular area no matter how substandard it is, it is nearly impossble to shift.I wish all the volunteers the very best and hope one day they can get paid.

It feels like you have a very negative view of things. If 13 years have achieved something useful, not just at the end but over the 13 years, and if in the worst case it disappeared, then it sounds like you think it was not worthwhile at all. What if it was 20 years? 50 years? I'm afraid nothing lasts forever, so if you take such a negative view then maybe no one ought to bother getting out of bed in the morning - nothing any of us achieve will last forever.

I think we both agree that it's in everyone's interest that there be capable people to take over, but you can't necessarily force that. I particularly appreciate the comment "as long we are both here there will never seem to be a need to the footy public for anyone else to lead AFANA". Finding someone to step up is very difficult as long as the position is filled.
