I guess you don't know until you try it Brett. I don't think you'd have to play the seniors against the juniors in PNG, and it could work if you could rope a few of the young PNG boys in Australia to return home once off to play (the opposite was organised for the international cup). I think the PNG boys would have much more passion and pride at stake as some of them would have much more chance of being scouted by AFL clubs as it currently the case.

Try what? PNG versus AIS? I'm definitely keen to see that happen - it was great there was the Flying Boomerangs tour to PNG this year. The more games in PNG the better.

But many of these AIS players wouldn't be out of place in an AFL match. So if they played a similar PNG age group it would be very one sided too. If it didn't include PNG's young guns in Australia, it would be very ugly.

So in the first instance, I'd be keen for it to be an open age PNG side. But getting the logistics right would be difficult, so it would be unlikely to be PNG's best anyway, with so many in Australia playing.

With a couple of games together, we'll see how the AIS go against a WAFL side, Peel Thunder, in the next few days. Because I don't think anyone would argue PNG would get close to a WA, Vic or SA state league club just yet.
