University give the Magpies the Blues in Auckland

Interesting to note that during 2002 to 2004 these two clubs (Uni and Waitakere) in particular were the most active in getting junior U17's teams going on weekends, (Uni also had U12's as well.) Most of these players are aged between 20 to 23 years now and are the backbone of their sides. Mt Roskill is the other team who also worked hard at a junior level. There are many reasons why these clubs had some success in juniors back then, but it clearly demonstrates to All NZ teams that if you want sustained success, then you will need to work harder in getting your Local Juniors playing this great game on weekends, not just at school!
