Just a quick note to say that we've put a small update at the end of the story above - a comment from AFLPNG's Scott Reid.

Good luck to those boys who missed out on the trip to Fiji. PNG is a country on the rise but is still very poor compared with the West, so I can imagine that for some of them it may have literally been a once in a lifetime chance to travel overseas. Hopefully most of them will qualify for other touring squads.
