Cam agiain with a couple more examples of how the modified IRB scheme works as applied to footy results
IC 05 Round 1 again
Ireland 1st with 50.22 ranking points
Canada 11th with 34.33 ranking points
Rating Gap -15.89 for Ireland
15.89 for Canada
The rating gap here also exceeds the upper and lower limits as per graphs on IRB scale so the actual rating exchange is 0.00
Ireland actually gets no advance by beating a team so far below it and Canada loses nothing by getting done by a team so far above it.

GB start points 35.44 rank 12th
Ireland start points 45.24 + 3Home Adv = 48.24 rank 3rd
Rating Gap 12.81 for GB
- 12.81 for Ireland but Ireland is the higher ranked team but loses so maths is
GB 12.81/10+1= 2.281 x 1.5 (40plus win)=3.421
Ireland -12.81/10-1 = -2.281 x 1.5 = - 3.421 exchange points
These exceed the max limits so GB recieves 2.00 points
Ireland loses 2.00 points
Great Britain 35.44+2.00=37.44 ranking points and rises one place to 10th
Ireland 45.24 - 2.00 = 43.24 ranking points and slips below Canada on 43.63 and Denmark on 43.53 ranking points.

The ranking scheme should be able to predict which teams will win each match when the
up and coming European Championships are played out between teams already ranked. If the likes of France, Croatia and Catalonia play against teams already ranked first up then because they are given 40 points to start they may still be ranked higher than already ranked teams until they play a few games and lose some points.
