I've just received some emails suggesting that Iceland have also been in contact with the AFL, bringing it to 27 potentials.

Certainly I've been in regular contact with Iceland (and have a standing invitation for their players to come early and play/train at my local club)......they have a stated desire to get down if possible.

Perhaps if there's large enough contingents from Europe for example that they can negotiate some shared group travel or the like and leverage off each other to lessen expense - mebbe a special charter 747?? (Qantas...Geoff Dixon...are you out there??)

It'd be great to see the AFL get the Aust Govt behind this.....a couple of million from the Feds for this would go a long way compared to the wining/dining expenses of the WC bid!!!! Simon Crean are YOU out there??
