World Footy Rankings - eligible games - part two

We've received feedback that this game:

11/06/2005 game 64 Test Denmark Denmark 15.8 (98) drew with Sweden 14.14 (98)

might not be appropriate for inclusion, as it was played basically as a friendly as a warm up match for Denmark leading up to IC2005 and Sweden featured a lot of Aussies and Denmark even had some Swedes.

Does anyone else from the DAFL or AFL Sweden have a strong opinion either way? Based on what we've been told, I tend to agree it should not be included.

That's the kind of feedback we're looking for - if games are not appropriate then let us know. The further back in time we go the less restrictive we will be, but 2005 is relatively recent so should certainly meet the criteria or go close.

We've also received feedback that:

Test 63 - USA v Canada. The game never happened. Northwind were in Australia at that time, preparing for IC2005.

You may be thinking of the 2004 Parallel Cup in Toronto. USA 9:9:63 CAN 7:9:51.

Re US v Canada test 63
I think that might be a Brett typo. I've got that game being played 31/7/04 so really doesn't alter anything as there were no games after that until the Denmark v Sweden draw.

Yes I must've typed the year in as 2005 instead of 2004, but the scores are what you had in your initial spreadsheet. I'll be changing them to the scores as advised.

Hi Erik,

Yeah I think that game will be deleted. We allow some latitude for games a long time back, but didn't intend such loose rules for games as recently as 2005. 12 Aussies in the Swedish team clearly makes this a friendly not a true international in my opinion.

Hi guys,

Just my 2 cents... I think that games played under current rules should count. Many of the old games but also hte mentioned game Denmark vs Sweden had aussies playing. They are not eligable to play under the current rules and therefore these games should not count. From my memory some of the early DK vs GB games had aussies playing for GB.

Again just my 2 cents worth.
