Hopefully the 'minnow' nations are learning heaps and will be all set for facing up to each other in more competitive hit outs - - - obviously the likes of Croatia and Iceland were prepared for facing stiff opposition.

And, I guess it's vinidicated that there really ought to be a fair gap between 20 year footy nations and the new comers.

There's a big gap between the nations that have been going 20 years and the new ones, but also the newer leagues had to work hard to get a squad together and could only bring maybe 20 or 22 players, compared with GB, Ireland, Sweden and Denmark who've got the full 26 allowed.

So Germany did pretty well to hold Sweden for three quarters, even without a bench!!

The gap between the established leagues and the new ones shows as expected but the results in the 2nd round suggest that the new teams have improved somewhat, even Croatia able to score against Ireland. Round 3 should see some much tighter games. If the crowds that have turned up so far can afford to go along again and see the round 3 matches they should be treated to some really good footy, played out as it should be.
Halfway mark is reflected in our projected Ranking Scheme quite well so far.

Really looking forward to seeing how the round 3 matches turn out.
The players all must be so proud, when you think they are the history makers. The 1st ever European Championships and they're in it, making it happen regardless of where they finish. Bit of a bummer that a couple of teams are going to go home winless.
