To answer the question - there is another group playing footy socially in Israel, mainly composed of Australian Jews who've made aliyah. They've talked about starting a formal local league on and off for about 10 years now, but it's never quite materialised. I've spoken with a few of them over the years, you can find them on Facebook if you search for AFL in Israel.

This group also played at least one practice match against the Peace Team before the last IC.

Thanks Aaron, it seems that the two groups have already got together so don't you think that the AFL should try to give a "little" push and shove(as they have applied in other parts of the world eg Fiji most recently, and PNG and Sth Africa) to help these guys get an Israel/Palestine league up and running and just as important have it be outside the confines of the religious extremes that seem to be destroying normal life in the area.
