hi all, bit off track here but wats the chances of the winner of this foxtel cup taking on the winner of the international cup every ic year,theres every chance of a flogging but at least its a gauge for the ic sides

Flogging's too kind a term - you'd be looking at 500-0 scorelines. The Foxtel Cup sides are only one tier below the AFL.

It'd be more use for the IC sides to maybe take on some suburban or bush club sides, maybe like the idea we discussed in a separate thread to see NZ take on the rep squads from some NSW bush leagues.

Actually although I often think people underestimate the gap, in this case I'm not sure 500-0 would be fair. A full strength winner of IC11, say PNG, may be a bit more competitive than that. Maybe 250-20. Nit picking I guess.

I would love to see the select IC11 World side brought back for a game say a couple of months later. Fly them in for a couple of elite training sessions then play say a top amateur club, selected based on being premiers or charitable work or some such.
