Four 21 min quarters, 500 points is a goal a minute, not inconceivable when one team is totally outclassed.

But I have to agree with Brett, probably PNG might not do that badly but it would be better if we could have the IC winner play an amateur rep team or country league rep team so that we don't have even 250 - 40 floggings.

Or, as I have suggested in earlier debates about seeding the teams for the IC, have as many as possible, if not all the IC teams play a warm up game against an Aussie urban/country/bush club/league.

I see to big benefits coming from such an exercise, firstly gives all the IC participants a chance to measure themselves against Aussie teams, and secondly, demonstrates to the players, supporters, club members and the local Aussie Rules followers that the game is played elsewhere in the world.

"Kids 'watching these games' will grow up accepting as normal that other countries play Aussie Rules" (see comments: AFL comes to Nintendo Wii.)

Another benefit for the IC teams would be their immersion(if only for a day) into the 'real' culture of Aussie Rules football as a game and sport as played by the population of Australia as opposed to the elite AFL.

Unfortunately it is probably too late to organise such a series of matches this time around but hopefully some of the immigrant communities in Aussie can organise a few this year for their visitors.
