Congratz to Germany! Nice pictures available as well on Flickr.

Concerning 'owning' an oval in Europe, I suppose Farum in Denmark must be one of the first clubs. Even if it is owned by the community the footy club has the exclusive rights to use the ground (if I'm not completely mistaken here) including their 'own' clubhouse and change rooms. The pitch is a small one in Australian terms, I suppose, but still impressive in European terms measuring about 140x100 meters.

Thanks Jorg

Most ovals in Aussie are actually owned by the Community(town or city Council) but the facilities (club, change rooms etc.) are 'owned' by the football club. Seems that Farum have pretty much the same set up. From the satelite photo on web site it looks like they share with soccer and basketball (and/or hand ball?)(NE corner). Most aussie country footy share with netball and sometimes tennis courts.

Is that a longjump/triple jump runup and sandpit along the N boundary?

OK we can probably count two clubs in Europe now it seems. Wonder if there are any more as well set up.
