It's a bit of a circular thing. The media will do the occasional piece, but they'll only take it seriously if the public is getting into it, and vice versa. The media is so AFL focussed the Cup will only ever get consistent reporting as a "serious" competition if it's played on the mainstream audiences in front of reasonably crowds, and that will then deliver further crowds etc. So it's a hard cycle to kick start and I believe it would really take a significant advertising budget.

Still, there have been some better turn outs for some games in Sydney in the last few days and I'm told that there should be some good numbers of kids getting along to Royal Park in Melbourne so it is building.

SBS had a piece about the Peace Team and they actually mentioned that the AFL International Cup was being played in Sydney(Les Murray would have been spitting chips :-) ) Absolutely nothing that I've seen on the other channels or in The Advertiser in SA.

Only WFN continues to fly the flag, Carry the banner, push the envelope!!!!!!!!!! :-)

Would love to take credit for the women's coverage, but yesterday two Sydney newspapers did stories on the PNG Flame vs Canadian Northern Lights game. One of them even had a double spread picture of the girls getting in there! Go ladies!
