Firstly the broadcast idea was to try and provide something while the site was down (I think in 05 we were asked to commentate by the AFL and then were not required, and in IC08 i suggested it but we were too busy). It was totally unprepared and no doubt sounded that way - and not many people would have known about it. Thanks to Bill Robert for spreading the word for me via his network and anyone else who spread the word.

Secondly the only time I ever have commentated a game was over 20 years ago when I was handed the microphone at a country grand final my home town was playing in. So plenty of room to warm into it and improve hopefully.

Thirdly, apologies for those that had to listen to my monotone nasally drone, but hopefully you got something out of it.

Hey Troy, with the site down, I was working from home, in the office looking out over the sunny/breezy backyard, and listening to your picturesque commentary and just visualising the 'Zoo end'........

....just needed an expert comments person!!

who was it that came across looking for Brett and making compliments about the 'great website' that proved so ironic on the day.

Unfortunately I may never know, it was an Aussie in US supporter kit, will hopefully find out on Friday. I had never actually tried out the broadcast programme for Ustream before so didn't even know how to mute my microphone quickly to chat to the guy - so I had to kind of brush him off and keep on with the commentary. Had a nice new WFN magnet on the side of my vehicle there today that gave away our presence - so that's what attacted him. Hopefully Brett heard the compliment but may have missed it as he was looking after his little girl in Adelaide.
