Please confirm that Erakor and Mele still play at 12-a-side and can anybody tell me how many players-a-side the women and under 12's play with. I am assuming that these two teams are currently the only teams in Vanuatu.

If anybody can tell me the number of players(approx)(seniors, women and juniors) currently playing in Vanuatu it would be most appreciated.

18 a side now.

as an indication of a match day in Vanuatu now - this was the schedule for last Saturdays round:

Details for Game Day 7

Saturday Nov 19
Kazza Field (AFL new home ground)

... 8am All arrive to set up oval.
• Line marking
• Fill in Crab Holes (important to avoid potential injury) - Bring wheelbarrows & shovels.
• Food & Drinks stalls

8.30am Team Sheets to be filled in and handed in to receive playing jumpers

9am U12 Start

10am U14 Start

11am Females Start

12.30 U16 Start

2.30pm Seniors Start

As we now have a full size oval, we will be playing 18 a side on the field + reserves, for each of the grades.

Thanks Michael for the info. WOW what a story!!!! Crab Holes???

I will update Vanautu's stats page accordingly in my Compendium of International Footy

2 x senior teams = about 50 seniors each men and women roughly?

6 x junior teams = about 150 juniors roughly ?

Of course your story about the crab holes begs the question. What happens to the crabs, are they edible? :-)

And is this task of filling in the holes undertaken before every game day?

And I guess, how big are the holes and how many?
