Wellington is quite an enigma isn't it. Quite frankly it has a tiny base of just a few clubs, some of which can't get on the field, yet on the other hand it has traditionally been considered a strong region for the game, has a relatively long history with it, was the focus for AFL exhibition matches in the past (and may be again in the future), and still does quite well at NPCs.
