My comments also stand from then - yes I think Denmark are a little bit lower than they deserve, although in points it would only take a tiny change for them to push back up. The fundamental weakness remains that if teams don't play enough matches across the range of opponents then there's a risk that a middle team beats up on lower teams, pushing themselves higher than they deserve. The system has limits to stop how far they rise, but it doesn't prevent some of this effect. I don't think the system needs just a tweak to address this, it would need a major change... I'd love to have the time to try some different ideas.

Re the Euro Cup, that's 9-a-side, these rankings are for the "full field" version only (typically 16 to 18-a-side). There was much debate initially about whether to include 9s, say with half weighting - I lost that debate by weight of numbers of readers and writers against it.

I would like to have been part of that debate. There is too little international football and for that reason I think you have to include the 9-a-side stuff, or indeed matches of any kind, appropriately weighted, to give enough results for the rankings to be significant.
