I think that the teams are re- ranked after round 3 and then again (except for the finalists) after round 4. I think!!!ω A bit like when they play for the plate and the bowl at th Euro Cup 9's. I think!!!ω Yet again it is the AFL running this show, so it could quite easily be a mistake!!!!!! :-)

It looks to me like the day 5/6 matches are the place-playoffs (so 3rd/4th, 5th/6th, 13th/14th etc), so it's like the 90s McIntyre system. That'd be why the Day 5 fixtures have 5 v 6, 7 v 8, etc. It also says 1 v 2 and 3 v 4, but those wouldn't be the ladder placings.

In other words, the 5th/6th playoff will be between the two highest winners of the Division 1 matches, the 7th/8th will be the third and fourth highest Div 1 winners, and so on. And in Division 2 the top two winners will play for 13th/14th, the bottom two losers will play for 17th/18th, and the two remaining will play for 15th/16th.

If that is the case, then there will essentially be a Division 1 Grand Final (5th/6th playoff) and a Division 2 Grand Final (the 13th/14th playoff).
However as someone else pointed out here, if the results go as expected with the favourites all winning, the 15th and 16th placed teams will play each other twice on Day 4 and 5.
