Without trying to put too much shine on it, I believe most countries accept the WFN World Ranking Scheme as "the" standard, mainly because it is based entirely on results, although it suffers a little when nations only play one or two other nations all the time. eg. Canada v USA. Also probably there are not enough games played (between IC's that is) and our small number of actual nations playing international matches.

I think that it works more than adequately most of the time and nations of pretty much equal playing standard are found to be ranked close to each other on the scheme and that's why most countries accept it.

Hopefully there aren't too many international footy fans out there ready to shoot me down in flames as I will be attending the IC17. :-)
