There is a small area where offside type of rule applies - in Gaelic Football, Hurling and International Rules - and that is the "Square Ball" rule. The small goalkeepers square which is just immediately in front of the goals is an offside area for any attacking side player to enter before the ball enters the area. However the goalie and other defenders can be in there before the ball.

The recent All Ireland Football Final or maybe it was a semi-final had a controversial victory by a team where one of their goals was clearly seen on replay to have been scored by a player who entered the square before the ball. Leading to calls for video refs etc - where have we heard that before?
