History: Despite a large Greek population in Australia, particularly in Melbourne, for some reason Australian football appears to have never penetrated the Greek homeland. Many former VFL/AFL stars have Greek backgrounds. A Greek-Australian side won the 2005 Multicultural Cup in Melbourne, with its players including former top players Athos Hyroulakis (Collingwood), John Rombotis (Fitzroy/Richmond) and James Condon (Western Bulldogs). More recent stars Angelo Lekkas, Ang Christou, Anthony Koutoufides and Peter Daicos are expected to turn out for the 2010 Greek Harmony Cup side, again to be played in Melbourne. At this stage we're not aware of any seeding of the game in Greece.
Outlook (2010): No sign of the game commencing.
