AFL PNG is the leading organisation for Australian Football junior development outside of Australia, in terms of both pathways and sheer numbers. It is encouraging to see that girls footy hasn't been forgotten amongst the push to AFL success.
PNG's The National reported that AFL PNG will be sending a girls team to ????? in Australia. A squad has been in training, and includes players from the remote Keradua club in Togoba, outside Mt Hagen.
AFL-PNG's Rev Moses Karr said that since Keradua were the only club in the Northern Zone with a girls team that joined footy last year, they were rewarded with the selection of the five girls to participate in this international meet. The five would have a week of training in Port Moresby with girls from other zones before leaving for Australia.
