We're pleased to announce the winners of our Footy Darts packages (see Footy Darts - chance to win for your club). An Ultimate Footy Pack will soon be on the way to the Denver Bulldogs in Colorado, USA and the North Delta Junior AFL in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, courtesy of Dale Wilson from Sports Darts. Read on to hear more about their entries.
The Denver Bulldogs have been the dominant side of USFooty in its 10 year history, winning 5 National Championships and putting together long undefeated stretches. The Bulldogs' Tom Ellis, a US Revolution player at the 2002 and 2005 International Cups, told WFN: "I saw a demo on YouTube and it looks like fun. We are having a huge 300+ people Grand Final Night here in Denver Colorado. We would love to be able to use your product as a raffle prize. If you decide to send us some make sure to send brochures or anything else and we will get the word out".
The NDJAFL in Vancouver leads the way in junior footy in Canada and provided the bulk of the successful under 17s side that recently defeated the US in their first youth confrontation. Mike McFarlane (also AFL Canada President and a former Northwind player) told us "We started a league for boys and girls in North Delta B.C. just outside of Vancouver Canada five years ago. We began with 28 kids and 4 teams and have grown to 150 kids and 12 teams and next year we are looking at adding 2 more teams. We began an under 17 team that beat the US 49-0 and 50-6 this August and we could use the game to further the kids' love of footy. We had 6 of our girls represent Canada in the first International against the US and one of our first juniors has been selected to the Canadian National team and will (hopefully) be in the line up for Canada at the 2008 IC. We are always trying to develop a passion within our kids for footy. The league has no expat kids. They are all Canadian and we think this game would again help our program. It would be a prize at our GF night. Thanks for doing things like this for international footy as this only helps to show what great people are involved in this game. I think the more support from Australia the better".
