Internationals in Round 15 VFL action

Another big week for International players in the VFL as Round 15 was played in good conditions on Saturday and not so good on Sunday. The standout performances were the ruckwork of Eric Wallace and an impressive defensive performance by Kurt Heatherley.
A quiet day for opposing Irish players in the Essendon vs Geelong match. Lucey (Ire) had 5 kicks, 5 marks, 4 hit outs and 3 handballs for the Cats and Conor McKenna (Ire) on the winning side had 8 kicks, 3 handballs and 3 marks and kicked 1.1 to see the Bombers home by 13 points.
Jason Holmes (USA) also had a quiet day for Sandringham with just 16 hit outs, 4 kicks, 2 marks and 2 handballs. It was a comfortable win for the Zebras over Richmond to the tune of 45 points.
Mason Cox (USA) had 5 kicks, 6 handballs, 4 marks and 7 tackles to go along with a goal and 27 hit outs in Collingwood’s easy win over Casey Scorpions at Victoria Park.
In wet conditions at Chirnside Park Werribee defeated the Box Hill Hawks. Eric Wallace (USA) had a massive 54 hit outs for the Tigers along with 6 kicks, 1 handball and 6 tackles. Shem Tatupu (NZ) kicked 1.1 for the Hawks and Kurt Heatherley (NZ) with 18 disposals - 3 marks - 5 tackles - 6 rebounds 50s was named in the best for Box Hill across half back.
The Northern Blues had the bye. It has been confirmed the Ciaran Sheehan (Ire) will miss the rest of the season through injury.
