The WFN World Ranking scheme allows us to make predictions on match outcomes and movement up or down in Rankings during a tournament such as the IC’s or the upcoming Trans-Atlantic Cup, if we accept the premise that the Ranking Scheme predicts that the Higher ranked nation will win more often than not. A look back over the Records confirms that premise*

Cam Holmes' Trans-Atlantic Cup WFN World Rankings Predictions Day Two MEN

Game One: Ireland 4th (54.29 rating points) v. Colombia International Debut (40.00 Starting Points). Rating Gap 14.29 greater than 10.00 therefore no points exchange and no movement in Rank. Ireland remains 4th whilst Colombia enters the Provisional ranks at P1 (40.00) points.

Game Two: United States 6th (50.91) v. France 10th (45.39) rating gap 5.53 +/- 1.34 points exchanged. United States climbs to 52.25 points to within 0.72 points of Nauru at 5th. France slips to 44.04 points but remains in 10th place.

United States Revolution has a 1-0 record over France with win at IC 17, however if France were to be victorious France would gain the full maximum 3.00 points to rise 48.39 points and to 8th place above South Africa. USA Revolution would lose 3.00 points to 47.91 points but remain in 6th place a squeak above Denmark. BUT. See game 3 below.

Game Three: Great Britain 8th (46.90) v. Canada 11th (44.90) rating gap +/- 2.21 points exchanged. Great Britain would climb to 49.11 points and 7th above Denmark. Canada slips to 42.06 points and remains in 11th Place.

BUT. If Canada was to defeat Great Britain, Northwind would gain the maximum 3.00 points for 47.27 points climbing to 8th place above both South Africa and Great Britain. Great Britain losing max 3.00 points would slide to 43.90 Points and to 11th Rank just above China.

Cam's picks based on the Rankings are Ireland to defeat Colombia, USA to defeat France and Great Britain to defeat Canada.
